Meet an English-speaking teacher, often Richard, at Sun World Dynasty Hotel in Wangfujing for a 30-minute or one-hour Chinese calligraphy lesson. Learn brush control, calligraphy styles, cultural meanings, and calming practice before creating your own character artwork.
“My 11-year old daughter said this was awesome. The activity was meditative. My husband and I found the repetition of brush strokes relaxing. Richard picked us up at the hotel lobby and walked us over to the bookstore across the street, where everything was set up. He showed us how to hold the brush and exercises to prepare our hand. We created a lovely wall decoration with the character fu. He also shared with us the Confucius saying One World One Heart.”
